Volleyball Recap: Mount St. Mary Beats Norman for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Mount St. Mary extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping them up to 23-10. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Norman Tigers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-1 win on Friday.

Ella Hale paced Mount St. Mary's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hale got some help from Jentri Denwalt and her 33 assists. Hale was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Norman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 26-8 record this season. The shutout was out of character for they seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

When it comes to explaining why Norman lost, don't look at Camryn Burress. Despite the final result, she had ten assists and seven digs.

Mount St. Mary has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Union on the 27th. As for Norman, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mustang at 6:00 p.m. on October 7.
