Marblehead entered their tilt with Saugus on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Sachems with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Magicians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-16, 25-13.

Marblehead was led to victory by Eva Burke and Jane Rickards. Burke had three digs and three aces, while Rickards had two aces. Those two aces gave Rickards a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Marblehead was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Marblehead's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Saugus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Coming up, Marblehead will take on Notre Dame Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Saugus, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Everett on the 17th.
