Baseball Game Preview: Oasis Sharks vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

The Oasis Sharks will face off against the Community School of Naples Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oasis is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Oasis can't be too worried about heading out to take on Community School of Naples: they just beat First Baptist Academy at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Sharks came out on top against the Lions by a score of 9-6 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Daniel Merry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Community School of Naples had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let Gateway Charter get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. The Seahawks not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th.

Community School of Naples also got a great performance from Chris Risola as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Risola has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Cutter Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Ashton Acres also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Community School of Naples hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway Charter struck out 12 times.

Oasis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Community School of Naples, their record is now 15-10.

Oasis suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Community School of Naples in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
