Volleyball Recap: Coalinga Starts off Right with Win over Orosi

Coalinga had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Orosi Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Horned Toads also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-20, 25-9.

Coalinga was led to victory by Jayde Brooks and Jennifer Bourdeau. Brooks had six digs and four aces, while Bourdeau had 19 assists and two aces. That's the most aces Brooks has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emily Lopez, who had five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Coalinga was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orosi only served three aces.

Orosi is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coalinga has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Sierra Pacific on the 21st. As for Orosi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Tulare Union on the 22nd.
