League recap: Medicine Valley tops Brady to extend winning streak

D2 District 8 (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Medicine Valley extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 8 (8 Man) this week by beating Brady, 55-16. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Raiders.

Medicine Valley took down the Eagles 55-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Riley Garey threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 68 yards in the win.

Zach Mann provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Brady lost to Scott Johnsen's team. He completed 10 passes for 113 yards and also ran for 62 yards. Mann's favorite target this week was Michael Neiman, who caught three passes for 70 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Mann of Andy Seamann's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 585. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, the Raiders' Garey has rushed for 360 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Lucas Gleisberg. The Medicine Valley star has 16 catches for 341 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hitchcock County USD takes on Medicine Valley. The Falcons are in third place, while the Raiders are in first place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hitchcock County USD takes on Medicine Valley. Jarod Albers's team has allowed 118 points this season, while the Raiders have given up 86.

Wallace led D2 District 8 (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Hayes Center.
