The Basalt Longhorns will challenge the Roaring Fork Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Basalt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Basalt was able to grind out a solid win over Gunnison, taking the game 10-6. The Longhorns have beaten the Cowboys the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cowboys has come to flipping the script.

Ryder Hutchinson was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Karson Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Basalt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Roaring Fork came up short against Discovery Canyon on Monday and fell 7-3.

Basalt's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Roaring Fork, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
