Basketball Recap: Berwick Takes a Loss

If Berwick was riding high fresh off their 60-25 takedown of Grand Isle last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Berwick Panthers fell 47-35 to the St. James Wildcats on Friday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Berwick has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 20-19 record this season. As for St. James, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will venture away from home to take on Houma Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. James, they will face off against Ascension Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
