Ace Monihen Has Career Rushing Day

Starting off the list is Council Grove's Ace Monihen, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Monihen rushed for 200 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Council Grove pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Monihen and Council Grove will take on St. Marys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Parsons Posts Huge Game in 24-16 Victory

Kasen Parsons was instrumental in extending Osage City's winning streak to six on Friday. St. Marys had no answer to Parsons as he rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 115 yards on 13 of 21 attempts. Parsons really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run.

Osage City's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Parsons and Osage City will challenge Silver Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Porter Deters' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mission Valley over Olpe

While Porter Deters delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Mission Valley. Deters was dynamite, rushing for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 143 yards and a touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

On the season, Deters has thrown 5 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 79.5 passing yards per game.
