La Canada was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Joe Bell did his best to prevent it. South Pasadena had no answer to Bell as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Bell has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Bell and La Canada will take on San Marino at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Sadly, Bell's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Spartans' four-game streak of wins at home.
