Hill City and Douglas are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Hill City Rangers will challenge the Douglas Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hill City will be strutting in after a victory while Douglas will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Hill City got the win against Chadron by a conclusive 50-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Meanwhile, Douglas was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 40-35 to Custer. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hill City, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Everything went Hill City's way against Douglas when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Hill City made off with a 48-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hill City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
