Softball Recap: Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels vs. Northern Cambria Colts

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Juniata Valley, Moshannon Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Northern Cambria Colts as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Black Knights/Damsels as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Annabeth Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Moshannon Valley let Kylee O'Donnell and Brinley Kephart run wild. O'Donnell got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Kephart went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Kephart a new career-high. Leah Martin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Moshannon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Northern Cambria, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
