Basketball Recap: Sand Creek's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sand Creek extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Cheyenne Mountain. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks 59-57. The victory was nothing new for the Scorpions as they're now sitting on four straight.

Sand Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damian Marrow led the charge by putting up 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Marrow a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Starks, who went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points and seven boards.

Despite the defeat, Cheyenne Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Treglia posted 18 points and four steals. Cayden Cooper was another key player, posting 14 points and four steals.

Sand Creek's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Sand Creek is on the road again on Friday to play Green Mountain at 10:15 a.m. Averaging 60.87 points so far this season, Green Mountain's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Sand Creek better be ready for a challenge. Cheyenne Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
