The Bryan Station Defenders will head out on the road to take on the Montgomery County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bryan Station, who comes in off a win.
Bryan Station lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Estill County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Defenders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Engineers a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Defenders have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Karsyn Rockvoan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tiahna Bowman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Carrington Clark also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Bryan Station kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Montgomery County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Harrison County, falling 8-1. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Lilliana Hill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Bryan Station is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bryan Station has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Montgomery County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bryan Station came up short against Montgomery County in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 6-3. Can the Defenders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
