Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Silver Creek waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed past the Corydon Central Panthers to the tune of 65-32. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dane Sprigler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7-for-11 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least 18 points. Kasen Daeger was another key player, putting up ten points.

Silver Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corydon Central only six assists.

Despite the loss, Corydon Central still got an impressive performance from Jack Fessel, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Fessel is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 48% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Titus Wolfe, who posted eight points.

Silver Creek pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Corydon Central, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Silver Creek will venture away from home to challenge Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on February 28th. Silver Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Seymour likes a good challenge. As for Corydon Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-45 victory against Floyd Central on the 26th.
