Volleyball Game Preview: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Fillmore Central Panthers

The Raymond Central Mustangs will challenge the Fillmore Central Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Raymond Central beat Conestoga 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Fillmore Central earned a 3-1 victory over Wilber-Clatonia on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Fillmore Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Raymond Central better keep an eye on Ashlynn Childs. She was instrumental in Fillmore Central's win, getting 28 digs and two aces. Those 28 digs gave Childs a new career-high.

Fillmore Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Raymond Central's record now sits at 16-13. As for Fillmore Central, their record is now 12-18.

Raymond Central beat Fillmore Central 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
