Basketball Game Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Calhoun County Cougars

Terrell County and Calhoun County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Terrell County Greenwave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Calhoun County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Terrell County turned things around against Pataula Charter Academy on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 57-25 victory over the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Greenwave have posted since December 14, 2024.

Jentaiya Rushing was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jada Rushing, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Calhoun County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Miller County 67-31. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Calhoun County has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points per game. As for Terrell County, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.
