Football Game Preview: Dr. Phillips Panthers vs. West Orange Warriors

The Dr. Phillips Panthers will square off against the West Orange Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Dr. Phillips 12, West Orange 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

West Orange will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Dr. Phillips extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Panthers came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-13 W against Innovation. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Bulls are ranked 321st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Orange had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Knights 44-0. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Dr. Phillips pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for West Orange, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
