Football Recap: Willamette Wolverines vs. Mountainside Mavericks
It's playoff time, and Willamette had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Mountainside Mavericks on Friday as they made off with a 42-20 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won seven matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Zeke Thomas, who threw for 236 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 56 yards and one score on only seven carries. A healthy portion of Thomas' aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Brodie Butler, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Willamette didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amir Harris, Butler, Hunter Vaughn, and Tevin Candelario picked up one apiece.
