Softball Recap: Laguna Acoma Extends Winning Streak to Four

Laguna Acoma waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the To'hajiilee Warriors with a sharp 18-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-2 on Wednesday.

Laguna Acoma got a massive performance out of Tavani Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Scott has posted since April 7th. Kaylee Lorenzo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Laguna Acoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 14-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Laguna Acoma's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.4 runs over those games. As for To'hajiilee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Laguna Acoma will be playing at home against Northwest at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for To'hajiilee, they are taking a road trip to square off against Rehoboth Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lynx have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season.
