Volleyball Recap: Montpelier Takes a Loss

Montpelier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Stryker Panthers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Montpelier was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Bria Friend and Zoe Uribes, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Bella Ramos and her 23 assists. Olivia Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Montpelier's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Stryker, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Montpelier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Ayersville on the 22nd. As for Stryker, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Wauseon on the 22nd.
