Soccer Recap: Hueneme Takes a Loss

Hueneme lost against Santa Paula back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hueneme Vikings fell 3-1 to the Santa Paula Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 551st, while the Cardinals are ranked 52nd).

Hueneme's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Santa Paula, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2-2.

Hueneme will head out to take on Fillmore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hueneme's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Santa Paula, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Nordhoff at 6:00 p.m. Santa Paula is facing Nordhoff at the right time seeing as Nordhoff is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
