The McKeel Academy Wildcats will face off against the King Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKeel Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

McKeel Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lakeland Christian just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4.

McKeel Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Gill, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but King had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans a 17-0 shutout. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Jacob Stepanek looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, King got a massive performance out of Xavier Gori, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Gori a new career-high. Martin Galo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

King kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

King has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for McKeel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
