Softball Recap: Village Christian Comes Up Short

Village Christian fell victim to Valley Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Defenders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Defenders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Village Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Helen Rios, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Village Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Valley Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Village Christian will challenge rival Maranatha at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Valley Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Whittier Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
