Basketball Recap: Bella Diaz Key Part of a Team Effort in Cardinals Win

There's no place like home for Brookside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down the Open Door Christian Patriots 47-32 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Brookside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bella Diaz out in front who posted 18 points and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least a third of Brookside's points. Another player making a difference was Bailey Brennen, who had 13 points and three steals.

Brookside's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Open Door Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Brookside will welcome Black River at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Open Door Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Medina Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th.
