Baseball Game Preview: Southern Trojans vs. Valley Vikings

The Southern Trojans will face off against the Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Trinity hit Southern with a eight-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Shamrocks, falling 13-1.

Marlon Rojas was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Marsean Rogers also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Valley lost 17-1 to Pleasure Ridge Park on Tuesday.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 17-16.

Everything went Southern's way against Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2018, as Southern made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
