Football Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short

Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Rock Port Blue Jays and fell 76-6. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Judd Henke threw for 32 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Mitchell Walker rushed for 72 yards.

Brock Holmes had an outrageously good game for Rock Port as he rushed for 135 yards and five scores. Holmes also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making one tackle in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rock Port, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Princeton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 78-6 loss against Worth County/Northeast Nodaway on the 12th. As for Rock Port, they have also already played their next match, a 58-0 victory against East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] on the 12th.
