Softball Recap: Bloomfield Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Bloomfield faced off against Paris on Saturday. The Cardinals took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Lailey Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Madilyn Feiteira also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Paris, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Bloomfield will welcome Linton-Stockton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paris, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Martinsville on the 12th.
