Soccer Game Preview: Platteville vs. Monroe + Official Tickets

The Platteville Hillmen will take on the Monroe Cheesemakers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Platteville's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Monroe has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Platteville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Edgerton on Thursday. They fell just short of the Crimson Tide by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Platteville couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Monroe's offense. They came up short against McFarland on Thursday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while McFarland are ranked 29th).

Platteville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-2. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-2.

Platteville took their win against Monroe in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a conclusive 4-1 score. In that matchup, the Hillmen amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
