Basketball Game Preview: Lockwood Tigers vs. Butler Bears

The Lockwood Tigers will face off against the Butler Bears at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Lockwood is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lockwood challenged Dadeville on Saturday. Lockwood strolled past Dadeville with points to spare, taking the game 61-46.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Butler was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 72-19 loss at the hands of Chadwick. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Cardinals are ranked 98th).

Lockwood's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Butler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Lockwood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Butler in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 71-66 victory. Will Lockwood repeat their success, or does Butler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
