Softball Game Preview: Tullahoma Wildcats vs. Central Magnet

The Tullahoma Wildcats will challenge Central Magnet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tullahoma has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tullahoma is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Giles County just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 15-5 to the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since March 12th.

Madison Goad led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Addyson Norman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Central Magnet made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cannon County on Wednesday. Central Magnet was the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over Cannon County. The win continues a trend for Central Magnet in their matchups with Cannon County: they've now won eight in a row.

Central Magnet let Sophia Croasdaile and Megan Weber run wild. Croasdaile scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Weber went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Weber hit this season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Nickerson, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Central Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tullahoma's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Central Magnet, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
