Baseball Recap: Washington Find Success

Washington's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Loudoun Valley Vikings. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 4-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sven Dupree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on one hit and racked up seven Ks. Washington is undefeated when Dupree allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Ryan Kelly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Landon Brady, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Loudoun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Washington will be playing at home against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loudoun Valley, they will head out to square off against Dominion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
