Hickory has gone 6-1 against Deep Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will welcome the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Hickory is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Hickory proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Great Bridge. The win was all the more spectacular given Hickory's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Great Bridge are ranked fourth).

Brenna Cashman and Kayleigh Belton scored both of Hickory's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Deep Creek kept a clean sheet against Lakeland on Tuesday. They blew past the Cavaliers 3-0. Deep Creek haven't had any issues with Lakeland recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Hickory's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matches. As for Deep Creek, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 3-4-1.

Hickory took their victory against Deep Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
