Preview: Redbank Valley Bulldogs vs. North Clarion Wolves
After two games on the road, Redbank Valley is heading back home. They will take on the North Clarion Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Redbank Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Redbank Valley stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Allegheny-Clarion Valley 66-41. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Allegheny-Clarion Valley is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Redbank Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kieran Fricko, who scored 18 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Clouse, who scored 11 points along with four steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, North Clarion's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Clarion-Limestone, falling 91-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat North Clarion has suffered yet this season.
Redbank Valley pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Clarion, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Everything went Redbank Valley's way against North Clarion when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Redbank Valley made off with a 59-39 win. Will Redbank Valley repeat their success, or does North Clarion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
