Basketball Recap: Blackfoot Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Blackfoot waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They had just enough and edged the Hillcrest Knights out 52-49. 52 seems to be a good number for the Broncos as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Blackfoot's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Tanner, who went 8-for-12 on her way to 20 points and five boards. The game was Tanner's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Capson, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camryn Taylor went 5-for-8 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Taylor a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (71%). Another player making a difference was McKenzie Gatluak, who posted seven points and four steals.

Blackfoot's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points over those games. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Blackfoot has already played their next contest, a 61-43 victory against Skyline on the 13th. As for Hillcrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-52 loss against Shelley on the 13th.
