Baseball Recap: Davis Sr.'s Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whitney, Davis Sr. was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Fairfield Falcons. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alex Kieffer made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kieffer wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Burnham, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jackson Vogt was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Davis Sr. lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Davis Sr.'s record is now 18-9-1. As for Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.

Davis Sr. wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Enochs on the 7th. As for Fairfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Christian Brothers on the 7th.
