Basketball Recap: Beechwood's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Beechwood's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 50-42 win over the Laredo LBJ Wolves. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 79th in Kentucky, while the Wolves are ranked 871st in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beechwood's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Laredo LBJ, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Beechwood and Tate will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Laredo LBJ, they will be taking part in a tournament against Knoxville Catholic at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. One thing working in Knoxville Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
