Baseball Game Preview: Dickson Comets vs. Plainview Indians

Dickson is 0-10 against Plainview since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. Dickson will square off against Plainview at 5:00 p.m. Dickson has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dickson is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Antlers, falling 13-6.

Dickson saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dajuan Williams, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave Williams a new career-high. Kade Hillis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-3 to Mount St. Mary.

Brylan Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cooper Flowers was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Dickson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Dickson couldn't quite get it done against Plainview when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can Dickson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
