Volleyball Recap: Turner Comes Up Short

Turner lost against Newman Smith back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Trojans, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-10.

Turner has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11-1 record this season. As for Newman Smith, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-21.

Turner and Newman Smith could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Lions (ranked 951st) will meet Highland Park (ranked 14th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Newman Smith will take on Wakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (934 vs. 38).
