Basketball Recap: Catholic Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators 78-15. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Catholic had a senior duo take command as Ashton Walker en route to 27 points along with seven steals and five rebounds and Martez Harris dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards. The game was Walker's 16th in a row with at least 17 points. Gavin Mallette was another key player, to rack up 14 points.

Catholic pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-57 win against Steward on the 22nd. Hampton Roads Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
