Volleyball Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. Hancock Hawks

Pass Christian hasn't had much luck against Hancock recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Pirates will take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Pass Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Long Beach and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Hancock faced Gulfport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Hawks fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Admirals: they've now lost five in a row.

Hancock actually scored more points across those five sets (104-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 15-8.

Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 25-8. As for Pass Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Pass Christian couldn't quite get it done against Hancock in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
