Recap: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Mansfield Christian Flames
It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Genoa Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 61-52 win over Mansfield Christian. Winning may never get old, but Genoa Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Genoa Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Kinley out in front who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. Kinley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Norman, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Genoa Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Mansfield Christian, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-6.
Genoa Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Delaware Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Delaware Christian: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Genoa Christian Academy has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Mansfield Christian, they will square off against Monroeville at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroeville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
