Basketball Recap: Sherrard's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Sherrard won the last time they faced Bureau Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sherrard Tigers walked away with a 62-49 victory over the Bureau Valley Storm. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Storm are ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sherrard's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Bureau Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherrard will venture away from home to take on Alleman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bureau Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Galva at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Galva is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
