Softball Game Preview: Beaver Dam Golden Beavers vs. Oregon Panthers

The Beaver Dam Golden Beavers are taking a road trip to square off against the Oregon Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Beaver Dam has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Beaver Dam took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Milton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Beavers had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 15-13.

Kendall Fakes was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Chloe Kasuboski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Fakes wasn't the only one making solid contact: Beaver Dam kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oregon strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Waunakee get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The game marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Oregon's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Beaver Dam, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Beaver Dam was able to grind out a solid win over Oregon when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 10-6. Do the Golden Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
