Baseball Recap: Maiden Gets the Win

Maiden posted their closest win since March 4th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the West Lincoln Rebels 4-3. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Brycen James, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Maiden is 2-1 when James posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zane Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Maiden back to even at 7-7. As for West Lincoln, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maiden is set to face off against their familiar foe West Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Maiden's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while West Caldwell has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, West Lincoln will take on rival Bunker Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
