Basketball Recap: River View Raiders vs. Montcalm Generals
The River View Raiders had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Montcalm as River View made off with a 62-37 win. River View has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Danielson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Danielson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Ashton Hunt was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
River View's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Montcalm, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River View will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Van has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Montcalm, they will head out on the road to challenge the Golden Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mount View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
