Softball Recap: Seymour Panthers vs. Petrolia Pirates
Seymour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 19-4 to the Petrolia Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
B Hardin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of J Rangel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Petrolia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Seymour will square off against Olney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Olney has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.29 runs per game on average), something Seymour will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Petrolia, they will face off against Electra at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
