Basketball Recap: Calexico Piles Up the Points Against Southwest EC

Calexico waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Southwest EC Eagles, posting a 64-22 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Calexico was led to victory by Dany Carreon and Edgar Mendoza. Carreon posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals, while Mendoza put up 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The game was Carreon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Gomez, who had six points and four steals.

Calexico's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Southwest EC, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Calexico will challenge Foothills Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southwest EC, they are taking a road trip to challenge Chula Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
