The Shady Spring Tigers will face off against the Nicholas County Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Shady Spring gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Independence by a score of 13-8.

Aiden Calvert and Aiden Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Calvert went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Brown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalon Bailey, who went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Nicholas County earned an 11-7 victory over Oak Hill on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.
Braden Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ira Mylott, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Nicholas County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caleb Burns, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Shady Spring is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Nicholas County, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
