Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Atascocita

Atascocita entered their tilt with Grand Oaks on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Grizzlies. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 9-6 victory the Grizzlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Atascocita got a great performance from Maya Hernandez as she didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Atascocita let Kaitlyn Miller and Rhilynn McCoy run wild. Miller went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one run, while McCoy went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave Miller a new career-high. Ashlee Elizarraras was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Atascocita's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Grand Oaks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.

Coming up, Atascocita will host Summer Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Oaks, they will take on College Park at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
