Basketball Recap: LKY's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of four wins, LKY's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 78-65 to the Greenville H Hurricanes.

LKY lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braylyn Collins, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, LKY smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

LKY's loss dropped their record down to 14-22. As for Greenville H, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-18 record this season.

LKY does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenville H, they and Palmetto HomeSchool will face off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Greenville H has given up an average of 54.9 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
